Sunday School Education begins at age three and is from 9AM to 9:50AM on Sundays (we're out for the summer). Curriculum for Ages 3 to 5th grade is "All Things New". Every July, we also offer a very popular and exciting Vacation Bible School for our young children. Other events that include children occur throughout the year:
Children's Chapel During the 10AM church service, a “Children’s Chapel” is provided targeting ages 3 –9. The gospel, sermon, creed, confession and prayers are geared for children. The goal is to provide a meaningful worship experience for young children that they can understand. The children process out of the church sanctuary during the hymn of praise (or Gloria). They return during the passing of the peace, in time for offering and communion. Baptized children are welcome to receive communion. Prior to this, children will receive a blessing. Beginning at age 8, children may become acolytes. See our Children's Chapel page.
If you have questions about our children’s programs, please contact our youth coordinator, Karen Gleeson. |
Words from the
Christian Education Committee. Clink this link to read the Word Document: Education Committee News "Living in Utah, it is very important for Episcopalians of all ages to have an answer when friends and neighbors ask, "What do you believe?" and "What is your church about?" We at St. James feel strongly that our church offers us opportunities to explore those questions in our Sunday School for ages 3 years to 12th grade, in our Adult Education, and in additional education programs. Whether you are a newcomer or an oldcomer, we have something to offer your brain and your spirit. Please join us for the education hour on Sundays from 9:00-9:45. " |
