About the event
Reservations for the Spring Camping trip to Huntington State Park open for those going down Thursday, May 19th or on Friday, May 20th.
The name of both the town and reservoir honors the three Huntington brothers, Oliver, William, and Dimick, who first explored this area in 1855. Dimick was an interpreter for the local Indians; William was famed as a scout and explorer; and Oliver was an official recorder for the unsuccessful Elk Mountain Mission to Moab. The town of Huntington was founded in 1877.
Sandstone cliffs and chiseled peaks are a spectacular backdrop to Huntington State Park.
The small reservoir is ideal for boating, waterskiing, and fishing.
Facilities include 25 camp sites, numerous picnic sites, modern restrooms, showers, sewage disposal station, boat launching and a large covered group-use pavilion.
