MINISTRY & FELLOWSHIP
Please join us
Our Altar Guild members prepare the Sanctuary for Holy Eucharist, set up for celebrations or funeral services, as well as make sure we are stocked with communion wafers and wine...among a host of other things!
WOMEN'S COFFEE GROUP
Several of the women of St. James meet online to find out what is happening in each other's lives and share love. It's a place to feel connected and pray for members of the parish, chat about anything, and share each other's burdens and joys.
A long standing group of men meet weekly to talk, plan, serve, and drink coffee (often a pastry or treat is involved.) These men are there to support each other through life's ups and downs and occasionally move a heavy table for the parish administrator.
Each meeting closes with Morning Prayer.
ST. JAMES FOOD BANK
Our Food Bank is open from 1-3 pm on the 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month. The Food Bank routinely serves about 400 members of our community each distribution Sunday. We get a delivery of new food, from the Utah Food Bank, on the Saturday before distribution day.
Volunteers are always welcome! Anyone can help on restocking days. Age 16+ can volunteer on distribution days.
ST. JAMES CAMPING TRIPS
St. James is full of outdoor lovers, RV trippers, and hikers. Twice yearly a St. James camping trip is held in some spot around Utah. This is a beloved and long-lasting tradition for St. James.
Our choir is directed by the talented Seth Bott, master organist with his DMA (Doctorate of Musical Arts) with an emphasis in organ performance and pedagogy. The choir meets weekly to practice and performs in church services every Sunday at the 10 am service.
THE "GARDEN OF EATIN"
Our garden grows through volunteer efforts. If you drive by St. James you will likely see a parishioner out in the garden weeding, harvesting, and watering our tomatoes, peas, peppers, squash, etc... It's a true labor of love. The produce goes to feed our Food Bank patrons.
Our building is used by a variety of local groups. Weekly, more than 1000 people come to St. James for a safe, convenient place to hold AA, AlaTeen, ALANON, and other such support groups. Additionally, we have a Korean Language School that meets on Saturdays, Up With Kids, a non-profit that practices and performs plays weekly, and a homeschool group that meets once a week to learn and do projects. We also have quarterly or twice yearly building users that use our building and grounds for events. Many charitable groups hold fundraisers--like LLS poker night. Our building truly blesses not only St. James parishioners but our community at large!
